About Us
Our Story
Our story began when my great grandfather homesteaded the land that soon became a working ranch back in the 1880’s, at the foot of the Spanish Peaks. This multigenerational ranch was worked and farmed by my grandfather for over 70 years, which continued down to my father who farmed and ranched the land with his own herd of cattle, and continues to be worked to this day by myself, my wife and our 3 daughters. At a young age, I knew that I wanted to continue ranching and farming. While working the land with my father, I was rewarded for my efforts with my own heifer cow at the age of 9. This further instilled in me that this was what I wanted to do. I continued to ranch and farm with my family through school and while attending Pan Handle State University, I would travel home often to help my father on our ranch and run a few cows of my own. This became more trying when we were faced with the drought. Even though this devastated many farms and ranches, we were able push through and maintain our small herd that we had at the time. With a lot of blood, sweat and tears, as well as help from my family, we now have well over 200 head of momma cows. This was such a huge accomplishment for us, and further drove us to do more. I became interested in ranching Waygu (Akaushi) beef due to the unmatched taste and the lack of diversity in the cattle industry in southern Colorado, and surrounding areas. We began our specialty beef program a few years ago, to get it to the point it is now, offering high quality, DNA tested Waygu (Akaushi) beef. Being able to offer this type of quality beef, and other types of meat like lamb and pork, to not only to the communities in southern Colorado, but across the nation is truly a dream come true. I believe that everyone should be able to enjoy having great tasting, ranch and humanely raised meat.
